Understanding Order Statuses

Every order on CardNexus goes through a series of statuses from the moment it’s placed to the moment it’s completed (or cancelled). Here’s what each status means and what to expect.

The Happy Path

Most orders follow this straightforward journey:

Awaiting Shipment → Shipped → Delivered → Completed

That’s it! The seller ships your cards, tracking confirms delivery, and after a short review window, the order completes and funds are released to the seller.

All Order Statuses

Active Statuses

These mean your order is still in progress — something is happening or someone needs to take action.

StatusWhat It MeansIf You’re the BuyerIf You’re the Seller
Awaiting ShipmentThe order has been placed and is waiting for the seller to pack and ship it.Sit tight — the seller has up to 5 days to ship.Time to pack! Find the items, package them safely, and ship with tracking.
Cancellation RequestedThe buyer has asked to cancel, but the seller has 48 hours to respond.Your request is pending. The seller can still ship the order within 48 hours. You have 48 hours — ship the order to proceed, or let the cancellation go through.
ShippedThe seller has shipped the package and added a tracking number.Your cards are on the way! Follow tracking updates on the order page. You’ve done your part — wait for delivery confirmation.
DeliveredTracking confirms the package has arrived. A 7-day review window is now open.Check your package and make sure everything looks good. You have 7 days to report any issues.Delivery confirmed! Funds will release automatically after the review window.

Completed Status

StatusWhat It Means
CompletedEverything went smoothly. The buyer received their cards and the review window passed without issues. Funds are released to the seller.

After an order is marked as completed, both the buyer and seller have 7 days to leave a review. Reviews use a double-blind system — neither party can see the other’s review until both have submitted (or the deadline passes).

Cancelled Statuses

Sometimes orders don’t work out. Here’s what each cancellation type means.

StatusWhat Happened
Cancelled by BuyerThe buyer requested a cancellation and it went through (the seller didn’t ship within the 48-hour window). A full refund is issued automatically.
Cancelled by SellerThe seller couldn’t fulfill the order — maybe they couldn’t find the card or it was damaged. A full refund is issued automatically.
Auto-CancelledThe seller didn’t ship the order within 5 days, so CardNexus cancelled it automatically. A full refund is issued.

All cancellations result in a full refund to the buyer. Refunds are processed back to your original payment method and typically appear within 5-10 business days.

Dispute Statuses

If something goes wrong with a delivered order, the buyer can open a dispute.

StatusWhat It Means
Dispute OpenThe buyer has reported a problem (wrong item, damaged, etc.). Buyer and seller are working to resolve it through the order chat.
Dispute Under ReviewThe buyer and seller couldn’t agree on a resolution, or the seller didn’t respond within 2 business days. A CardNexus admin will review the case and make a final decision.

Disputes can end in several ways: full refund, partial refund, no refund, or a return. See Reporting a Problem for details on how the dispute process works.

Key Timers to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

My order has been “Awaiting Shipment” for a few days — should I worry? Sellers have up to 5 days to ship. If they haven’t shipped by then, the order will be automatically cancelled and you’ll get a full refund. You can also request a cancellation yourself if you don’t want to wait.

The order says “Delivered” but I haven’t received it yet. Tracking data isn’t always perfectly accurate. Wait a day or two — sometimes packages show as delivered before they actually arrive (or they’re at a pickup point). If it still hasn’t turned up, report a problem on the order page.

Why is there a 7-day review window after delivery? This protects buyers. It gives you time to open the package, check that the cards match the listing, and report any issues before the seller receives payment. Think of it as a built-in buyer protection period.
